Through recessions, natural disasters, and the latest pandemic, we have remained a steadfast presence in the New England business community by delivering unparalleled customer service that local businesses can count on.
1985
NORTHERN BUSINESS MACHINES OPENS
President and Owner William F. Tracia starts NBM in 1985 with only 2 employees. Shortly thereafter, NBM becomes an authorized Sharp electronics dealer for both copiers and fax machines.

1990s
EXPANSION AND GROWTH
NBM earns recognition as a trusted and reputable office equipment dealer in New England. NBM purchases a 29,000 square foot building to accommodate its vast growth, finding its permanent home on Terry Avenue in Burlington. The 90s bring expansion to other parts of New England with the opening of NBM’s Boston branch in 1992, southern Massachusetts branch in 1993, and New Hampshire branch in 1998. NBM emerges as one of the top Sharp dealers in the country, and the “go-to” dealer for sales and service of office equipment in the New England area.

2000s
DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
NBM adapts to accommodate the modern workspace, offering digital products and solutions that seamlessly integrate with company networks. NBM opens two new divisions – a Managed Print Services division in 2008 and a Managed IT Services division in 2012 - to better service the needs of our customers. As our customers’ technological needs evolve, so too does NBM as a company. NBM continues to achieve excellence as a Top 10 Sharp equipment dealer in the country while also adding Konica Minolta and Ricoh to its product lines during this time.

2020
NBM CORPORATE BUILDING EXPANSION
NBM completes an 11,000 square foot addition to its current building to accommodate extensive growth, making its current headquarters a 40,000 square foot state-of-the art technology hub. NBM’s facility transforms to more than just an office; it becomes an interactive workspace for the NBM team, its customers, and the New England business community to connect and leverage technology together. We welcome the business community to visit us at any time for a tour and interactive demo of NBM office products and solutions.
