NBM and Ricoh…New England’s Next Great Team

NBM is pleased to announce that we are now a fully authorized Ricoh dealer for Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Southern Maine.  There are several factors that influenced the decision to partner with an outstanding manufacturer like Ricoh and we would like to outline a few of those.

In May 2017, Ricoh Corporation announced that they no longer going to provide equipment and services to new customers in the small to midsize business segment and wanted to steer that type of business to local independent dealers.  Ricoh direct will continue to service existing SMB customers but will not provide outside sales support any longer.  Current Ricoh customers are now only able to work with a telemarking group out of the Midwest.  Ricoh did not have any authorized dealers in Suffolk, Middlesex, or Essex counties in Massachusetts or the two southernmost counties in Maine before now.

NBM has more than 5,000 clients in the SMB space and is excited to work with Ricoh to continue to develop this market in New England whether a company is currently using Ricoh or a competitive brand.  In 21 markets outside of New England, Ricoh has actually sold a significant portion of their SMB customer base to independent dealers.  It is our intention to invest further into the Ricoh customer base as our relationship develops.

Ricoh is one of the top two manufacturers in the industry with a market share of greater than 20%.  We estimate that this figure could be larger in our market because of the Ikon acquisition.  Ikon was clearly the largest player in New England and that legacy combined with the Ricoh direct business provides NBM with a unique opportunity to expand our market share while continuing to provide best in class service to our customer base.  We couldn’t be more excited about adding a great manufacturer and partner like Ricoh to our already outstanding portfolio of products and services.
