NBM Celebrates 40 Years With SpringFest Appreciation Event


This year marks a big milestone for NBM — 40 years of serving New England. Since 1985, we’ve seen technology, businesses and communities evolve over and over again. Through it all, one thing has never changed: Our commitment to delivering unparalleled customer service that you can count on.

To commemorate this milestone, we hosted a celebration right here at our Burlington headquarters. SpringFest was our way of saying thank you to the incredible customers and partners who have made our 40-year journey possible.

Highlights from the day included a mini Irish pub on wheels, a golf simulator, interactive tech demos and raffles, including weekend getaways and Boston sports tickets.
But beyond the activities and prizes, what made SpringFest truly special was the opportunity to connect face-to-face with the people who make our work meaningful. We shared stories, celebrated successes and strengthened the relationships that are at the heart of everything we do.

To everyone who joined us at SpringFest, thank you. Your presence made the day unforgettable, and your continued partnership has been the foundation of our success.

Hearing From Our Clients

Over four decades, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with businesses across many different industries — from schools and healthcare facilities to law firms and manufacturing companies. As part of SpringFest, we had the chance to sit down with some of those clients and find out how we’re doing.

 

Building the NBM Legacy

Looking back, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come. In 1985, NBM founder William Tracia started this company with just two employees and a vision to provide exceptional office technology solutions. What began as a small shop has grown into New England’s leading office technology and managed services provider.
Here are some highlights from our 40-year journey:

The Early Years

NBM started out as a Sharp dealer for copiers and fax machines in a small office in Burlington. The need for local expertise led to rapid growth. Soon, we moved into our current headquarters in Burlington and expanded to branches in Boston, southern Massachusetts and New Hampshire. NBM has many of the same loyal customers and employees from its early days in the 1980s. In fact, over 50% of NBM employees have been with the company 10 years or more. Many of our senior management team have been with NBM for over 35 years, including:

  • Laura Bray, Vice President of Operations
  • Vern Hydorn, Senior Vice President of Sales
  • John Pietragallo, Director of Service

As workplaces evolved, so did we. NBM launched our Managed Print Services division in 2008 and Managed IT Services in 2012. We became a true technology partner, helping businesses navigate the digital age while maintaining our status as a Top 10 Sharp dealer nationally.
Around this time, the second generation of the Tracia family, Amie Tracia Geary and Nick Tracia, started working in the family business. Both had worked in the company during high school and college prior to transitioning to the business full-time. Nick started in the Sales Department when he graduated from college, and Amie transitioned from being a lawyer in private practice to NBM’s first in-house counsel. Amie and Nick are now both Vice Presidents of the company, involved in all aspects of day-to-day operations with Amie leading the network division and Nick leading copier sales.

Modern Growth

In 2020, we completed an 11,000 square foot expansion to our headquarters, creating an interactive workspace where the New England business community can connect and experience the latest technology solutions. Our building expansion accommodated the tremendous growth we were experiencing in all divisions, most significantly adding warehouse space to accommodate more inventory to support our customers.
